Coaches thoughts, March 3, 2010

Guys

Wow! I am very pleased with our turnout for conditioning. We have had 20 guys at each of our first two sessions. I like the team atmosphere already. We may have lost some players to graduation, but I love the additions that we have made for this season. We are looking good.

Stay with the conditioning. It will pay big dividends during the season, and during each game. One of my goals is to be watching the other teams sucking wind and blowing chunks while we run around them. Rugby games are 70 minutes, so we need to be ready to play ALL 70 minutes.

Please get yourselves CIPP'ed as soon as possible. (Look for directions on this site in a previous entry. It's easy, and is $26.00.)

If you have not turned in your paperwork, I still need the following items from some of you:

1. Waiver***
2. Code of Conduct
3. Player Profile
4. Emergency Contact sheet
5. Insurance card***

***Crucial and must be turned in ASAP.***

--------------------------------------------------------

Dues are $200.00. Your dues will pay for the following team related items:

1. Bus transportation to away games.
2. LF College field rental for home games.
3. Trainer from Athletico for home games.
4. Warm-ups, socks, and shorts (for players)
5. Equipment for the team (game balls, practice equipment, etc.)
6. Food for post home game festivities.
7. Water, gatorade, etc for games.

It all adds up pretty quickly, so let's get those check to me. Checks should be made out to:
LAKE FOREST YOUTH RUGBY.

----------------------------------------------------

No practice on Thursday 3/4.

We will resume practice on Tuesday, 3/9, 5:00-6:00 at Deerpath Middle School. Let's hope for warm weather and melt this snow..

Thanks guys... Have a great weekend. I'm going to Orlando, so I know I'll have some fun....

Practice Schedule

Guys

We will be practicing at:

Deerpath Middle School every Tuesday and Thursday, 5:00 - 6:15 PM

until the snow melts. If there are any changes, I will let you know as soon as possible.
Please arrive at Deerpath no later than 4:45 pm. You will only need running or basketball shoes, shorts, t-shirt and a water bottle. I would recommend bringing your mouth guard to get used to wearing it while working out. Mouth guards are MANDATORY, and you cannot play a game or practice once we get outside without one. Please get one now and be prepared.

This training is almost 90% conditioning, so come prepared to work hard.
(Coach Hans is doing his evil laugh right now.....)

It will pay off later in the season; TRUST ME!

Outdoor practice will be held at South Park, Maywood/Highview Terrace, Lake Forest. Dates for outdoor practice will be: Monday, Wednesday/Thursday. We will change days depending on game days. We will also be holding MANDATORY Saturday or Sunday practice which will consist of a team run, and 7's rugby/drills. These workouts are crucial, so plan on attending.

See / Call Coach Palbicke if you have issues/problems with practice days/time.
