LFHS v Arlington Stallions 4/17/08
The game against the Arlington Stallions for 4/17 IS ON!! It's go time.
We will be playing down there in Schaumburg on their pitch as a favor to them. I'll explain it fully when I see you guys at practice.
We will be travelling to Schaumburg by bus. Yes, by bus. I have rented a yellow bus for the trip. PLEASE be at the Lake Forest High School - West Campus parking lot NO LATER than 3:30. We will be leaving by 3:45 pm. We will be parking our cars in the back lot. Tell your parents (if they need to know) that we will be returning by 7:30 pm after the game.
Donations for the bus ride will be accepted (and appreciated). If you have a friend, family member, teacher, or spectator who wants to come along for the game, we do have a few extra seats available on the bus.
Practice on Monday (4/14) will be at the Pavlick's house, starting at 4:45. I will not be at this Monday practice as I have a family member who is undergoing serious surgery on Monday out of town, and will not be back in town in time.
For practice this week, we will be keeping the scrimmage to a minimum, and will be working on technical aspects of our game, signals, lineouts, scrums, and ghost rugby.
I will be picking up the jerseys on Tuesday after scchool. Yay!
Call me if you have questions. Have a great weekend guys.

Information update
The jerseys are being stitched and sewed as you sit and read this entry! I can tell you that they look great. The socks and shorts are in, and I will be picking them up at the same time as the jerseys. The jerseys should be finished late this week, and shipped on Sat. This means they will be delivered early next week in time for our first game!
The t-shirts will be ready on Tuesday (4/8). I will be picking them up and handing them out at practice next week. They also look great. I have included the logo and picture for you to view.
Back of T-Shirt
Chest / front of t-shirtGuys, thanks for being patient with our terrible practice schedule. The weather has worked against us, and the pitch should be good to practice on today. The first game is only days away!

The Ten Commandments of Rugby
THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF RUGBY
1. Thou shalt not hesitate at the breakdown, but be mighty to get your
rightful ball; for though it is written that the meek shall inherit the
earth, this is truly was a poor translation. The meek shall be trampled
into the dirt is more to the point.
2. Thou shalt not speak profanely of the Whistler, nor question the purity
of his birth, even though he be blind to transgressions by devils on the
other team at the ruck and the maul, and whistles them not.
3. Thou shalt not smite an opponent with a clenched fist, yeah, even in
retaliation; for it is written that the Whistler and the Flag Waver shall
assuredly miss the cowardly first punch, only to see the avenging second.
Believeth that what goeth around shall surely cometh, and verily, evil men
will be found at the bottom of rucks.
4. Thou should not kiss thy teammate on the mouth when he scores; for such
is an abomination unto God, especially kisses in tongues, unless you play
football with the round white ball and thus it is expected.
5. Thou shalt not take the Word of the Coach in vain, for blessed is the
Word of the Coach. Instead, wonder at his mighty wisdom and sticketh to His
Game Plan, lest the Coach acquaint you with his disciples
coaching in the lower grades.
6. Thou shalt not chip nor kick for touch if thou be a prop or wear any
jersey number below that of 7; for this is an abomination unto the Coach,
and surely you will be His at training, perhaps everlasting.
7. Thou shalt not run across the field with ball in hand, but runneth
straight ahead upfield; for it is written that the touchline is the best
defender.
8. Thou shalt not kick the ball to thine enemies unless it bounceth; for
the Spirit of the bounce of the Ball may cause confusion unto them, and if
thy heart be pure, make it bounceth back unto you.
9. Thou shalt not pass the ball to a teammate about to be smashed by the
mighty enemy, unless he owes you money, or has rodgered someone dear to
your heart, in which case all is forgiven.
10. Thou shalt not vomit on thy teammates after the game, for this is
unmanly, and they could do it unto you.

1. Our gave versus Noble St. WILL BE on Thursday, 4/3. We will meet at Deerpath Square (Deerpath west of Rt. 41) by 3:45 on Thursday. I'm hoping for a 5:30 kick-off.
(Taylor, your kicks have been awesome, so plan on being our kick-off guy... Keep working on that drop kick!!)
2. Senn HS has informed me that they do not have a pitch for our game against them on 4/9. I have invited them to come up here and play as a home game for us. Their coach has not called me back yet, but I hope to talk to him on Monday.
3. If there is still a lot of snow on the ground on Monday (3/23), practice will be cancelled. We'll reschedule for later in the week.
4. You guys looked good on Thursday. We're going to have a great time in our first game.
5. PLEASE ask your parents to assist with transportation to the game on 4/3. We need drivers for this game. It's important.
6. Brett B., I'm working on getting you a pair of line out shorts... Don't forget to get yourself a pair of under armour shorts also.
Have a great Easter weekend!
